The conversion of brownfields in Modřany

The character storylines in Modřany have always been determined by Vltava river. In the 19th century fast improvement came. The sugar factory was built, the railway next and the other factories followed. The construction of elevated tram line finished the isolation of the life in Modřany and the life by the river. This project achieves to integrate fragmentated land, find new functions for former industrial lands and create a full city quarter next by the river while preserving the elements of genius loci.
