The former PLM jar factory is located on the outskirts of an industrial area in the centre of Malmö. Family housing is being added on top of it The structure of the building is preserved except for the roof and a new load bearing structure is inserted into it, carrying a new wooden house. The typology is somewhere between duplex and town house. Each family has its own two-storey apartment with a terrace, front garden and balcony. Families share a communal larger kitchen, a rentable studio located across the kitchen, storage and laundry room. The created apartments are both smaller and larger, with most of them being variable - offering the possibility of creating a home workshop, study or fourth bedroom on the first level of the apartment.
