Recultivation of the Olympic landscape of Sarajevo ski jumps

Malik Ćatović

Annotation

The subject of the diploma seminar is an analysis of the landscape of the Malo Polje area, where the Olympic ski jumping competitions were held in 1984. Malo Polje is located on Mount Igman, near Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ski jumping hills, where the competitions took place, were built in 1982 for the needs of the Winter Olympic Games, which were held in Sarajevo (then Yugoslavia) in 1984. Due to the war that affected Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, as well as the lack of interest from local authorities in their reconstruction, this area is now neglected and remains unused for most of the year. The seminar concludes with the assignment of the diploma thesis, including its objectives.
