Exhibition of Studio Projects
NY-ÅLESUND
Annotation
The subject of this work is a hangar for the AU-30 airship in the settlement of Ny-Ålesund in Svalbard. At the construction site stood a wooden hangar for the airship Italia and Norge, with which Umberto Nobile and Roald Amundsen did polar expeditions to the North Pole . The current hangar is used for scientists who use an airship to study the seabed. The design is in a remote place, and therefore the chosen construction is as prefabricated as possible. Parts of the building will fit in a shipping container.
