DOG SHELTER
Annotation
The starting point for my proposal was to understand the site as an open, free meadow, used by dogs in the area, for the possibility of free range. I am locating the building in the least valuable part of the site below the bridge. I was looking for a form that would have a sense of openness to it. I propose a set of houses around courtyards of varying sizes and meanings, always open on one side, flowing down the slope so that even through the wall you can see out. I like the idea of quickly assembling and disassembling the house. I am designing the shelter as a timber building on earth screws, a truss of nailed beams, corrugated iron roofing, wood cladding. I strive for a balance between dignity and cheapness, temporariness and durability, machinic and random.
