THE HEART OF THE QUARTER

The urban design follows the street grid and creates new opportunities for pedestrian permeability. The relaxed centre is made up of civic amenities. The elementary and kindergarten schools, the senior citizens home and the cultural centre are connected by the common heart of the district - the public residence zone. The primary school brings to the emerging neighbourhood the potential to create an attractive environment for all social and age groups and to bring the community together. The Primary School consists of 3 loosely arranged masses - a Key Stage 1 building, a Key Stage 2 building and a sports hall. The school has a cluster layout, the centre of the cluster is an informal zone for various activities called the "learning landscape".
