Platform

The design of the linear platform is based on the spatial concept of Bezruč Square in Opava. Its main goal was to create a living space in the city centre, not only for students of the adjacent Silesian University. The central area offers space for sitting, but also serves for lectures or evening screenings. The individual sections of the platform follow the gently sloping terrain and are interconnected by ramps, creating seating around the entire perimeter of the structure. The outermost sections are adjacent to the existing plaza areas and create spaces of a more private nature. The linear design omits spaces for existing and newly proposed trees.
