Annotation

The monastery in Vilémov, which complements the baroque courtyard in the former castle estate and follows the tradition of the local medieval Benedictine monastery, is located halfway along the Via Czechia pilgrimage route, running east to west. The monastery provides overnight accommodation for about 30 pilgrims, while approximately 20 monks can cultivate various crops in the adjoining gardens, including ingredients for brewing monastic beer. The site offers around ten jobs, filled either by the monks themselves or by laypeople. The secular part of the monastery is above ground, while the rest of the complex utilizes the slope, concealing it from the surroundings.
