Sparrow

The multi-level intersection at Malovanka connects Prague's tunnels and surface traffic, but to pedestrians, it is an obstacle. The space above the intersection is empty and the crossroad generates noise and dust. However, its closeness to Hradčany and good public transport accessibility present opportunities for further development. The crossroad is overlaid by a platform with new buildings on it, thus realising the potential of the site. The Design bridges and connects the two 'banks' of the Patočkova traffic route. The low and dense development is distributed along two perpendicular axes and follows the peaceful residential character of the two 'banks.' The resulting figure, resembles a sparrow sitting on a twig.
