Exhibition of Studio Projects
THE MOUND '25
Annotation
The project focuses on the area where the now-destroyed settlement of Nové Mohelno once stood. The first mention of this village dates back to 1654. The settlement was located on the Mohelská pláň, which slopes towards the state border. However, in 1946, its population was displaced, and the village was systematically destroyed. Today, only a few remnants of stone walls and field paths remain on the site. The aim of the project is to sensitively commemorate this historical phase. The design includes subtle interventions that symbolically evoke the original roads and structures. The simplicity of the design is reflected in the choice of materials used, which are corten steel and stone. Corten in this design symbolizes the process of aging, rawness, but also permanence and resilience. Stone
