AXES AND RIBBONS

The goal of the architectural concept is to create a campus where students will want to spend time even outside of classes—a campus that encourages staying, relaxing, and engaging in cultural activities. A campus where life thrives. The core of the concept is working with the site's geometry—respecting existing axes and sensitively complementing the strictly positioned blocks to emphasize the main axis leading from Vítězné náměstí to the main teaching building of the Czech Technical University (CTU) with its auditorium. The other faculty buildings form a unified complex together that remains accessible to the public. Through an open composition with walkways, active ground-floor spaces, and welcoming public areas, the design creates a comfortable environment.
