Home - a concept that changes its meaning across cultures, societies and time. From the abstract to a certain image that we ourselves create for it. Some situations in life put us in positions where we are forced to leave our home and look for it elsewhere, or to return to it. With this project I am trying to design a home for children who need intensive care on a daily basis. The design seeks to enable parents and extended family to live in a place that evokes positive - soft feelings, ones that will not be the ones we first imagine when we think of medical facilities. Helping children and their families in a complicated and exhausting situation designed into a single storey building without barriers, with a clear floor plan, sheltered by an organic curve.
