CHILDREN'S HOSPICE ZÁKUPY

Bc. Matěj Ponka

Annotation

The Capuchin monastery in Zákupy was founded in 1681. It was closed down as part of „Akce K“ in 1950, then occupied by the Czechoslovak and later the Soviet army. After the Velvet Revolution, the monastery was privatized and has been in disrepair ever since. The church and the exterior of the monastery are being restored to their Baroque form. A new building extends from the risalit of the monastery, which, with its volume and roof slope, continues the northern wing. The architecture responds to the minimalist facade of Capuchin architecture, the facades are interspersed with simply inserted window and door openings and topped with an interpretation of the crown cornice.
