Restoration of the Monastery in Zákupy
Annotation
he former Capuchin monastery in Zákupy has been deteriorating for several decades, which is why I decided to restore it and return it to its original purpose – a monastery.
The layout of the monastery has been adapted for comfortable living in the 21st century. Each monk has their own cell with private sanitary facilities. The ground floor features a library, a laundry room with a drying area, and a kitchen with a refectory. When designing the layout, I made an effort to respect the historical placement of the various functions.
I divided the monastery garden into two sections. The western side houses an area for tourist accommodations, which is enclosed by a cloister wall. The remainder of the garden is designed as a utility garden.
