Exhibition of Studio Projects
Under the ceiling and under the tree
Annotation
Beautiful, but grimy. The parks and green spaces are large and uninhabited, lacking character. This work redefines and transforms them, proposing a direction for the sparsely developed upper part of Smíchov. Along with defining the spaces, the project adds housing, education, and jobs.
I leave my apartment in a nineteenth-century tenement, take the stroller, buy a snack at the market, and pick up a book from the library. A garden in a hollow, picking up my child from school. A crowd gathers around the Bundt cake. We peek inside through the glass and head into the shadow of the arcade. Two crossings, a park. We pause by the gallery on the swing, then through the underpass to the waterfront. Watch out for the bike! On the pier, I hold my child’s hand and wave to the boats.
