Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

Pilsen? A city of beer, but also barriers. Roads, fences, rivers, and industrial areas separate parts of the city. This project connects a new self-sufficient district with its surroundings. The area, bordered by rivers, a brewery, a heating plant, and a railway, will transform: unused freight yards will make way for dense development, while the depot and old engine house will be preserved and turned into a cultural center. The terrain will be adjusted to enable easy crossing of the railway. The district embraces the river, offering embankments and waterfronts, with new bridges and footbridges linking it to its surroundings. A tram line will connect the area to the city center, reducing car traffic, especially on Rokycanská Street. A new train station will also be established.
