MONASTERY ON PILGRIMAGE ROUTE
Annotation
In the Baroque farm yard of the Vilémov manor, we propose a monastery, accommodation for pilgrims, and a small brewery. On the site of the original ruined building is the new brewery, which together with the accommodation opposite it forms the western border of the courtyard and forms the entrance from the Via Bohemia pilgrimage route. The monastery extends south of the courtyard and is cut into the sloping ground by its lower storey. It is connected to the chapel, which dominates the courtyard. The functional division of the buildings ensures privacy and silence in the monastery, openness, and transparency in the brewery and accommodation. Connection to and development of the surrounding countryside was important in the design.
