Vita e distruzione (Life and destruction)

The project for Parco della Susanna in Catania reflects a profound integration of local culture and landscape, inspired by Vera Slepoj's vision of Mount Etna as a living, pulsating entity. Etna, as both a destructive and creative force, shapes the identity of its inhabitants and serves as a metaphor for transformation and renewal. The park design explores this duality through spaces and forms that connect the volcanic essence with the collective unconscious of the region. It emphasizes balance and harmony, merging historical, geological, and ecological elements to create a site of cultural and environmental significance.
