KOVÁŘSKÁ: Apartment House KOV

The KOV apartment building is located in close proximity to the ruins of the original ironworks that gave the village its name. The house is situated on a plot of land opposite the pond where the buildings belonging to the ironworks used to stand. It is a quiet place to live, offering space for recreation amidst greenery. The new project seeks to build on the history of the buildings and recall the defunct ironworks with its corten cladding. The perimeter cladding also serves as a shading shutter, which is copper green on the inside. This allows the house to change its appearance depending on the weather. The slope of the roof and the other materials used follow the local typology, but at the same time the building brings something new, modern and fresh.
