KOVÁŘSKÁ: Cultural center in extended building

Located in the centre of Kovářská, between the church and the pilgrimage centre, this cultural centre aims to revitalise the town, welcoming locals and tourists. The project reuses a former fish cannery and the adjacent land, arranged around a central staircase. The old building houses a small museum with temporary exhibitions and a permanent exhibition about the factory. The new extension includes on the first floor a reception, a media room and a two-level café with a separate operation. On the ground floor, two multi-purpose rooms host activities ranging from concerts to creative workshops, while a studio supports photography and video production. The design connects old and new by repeating the rhythms of the façade, which opens onto the garden and allows light to enter.
