The project to convert an oil rig into a data center combines sustainability and resource efficiency. The data center responds to the growing demand for computing capacity, e.g. for cloud gaming or AI. The offshore location allows for natural cooling and universal access. The modular design reflects the rapid replacement of hardware. In addition, waste heat supports vertical farms, reducing the project’s ecological footprint and contributing to food production in a context of decreasing land availability. Robotics and AI ensure the efficiency of farms that provide locally sustainable products.
