Exhibition of Studio Projects
The garden of bridges
Annotation
The studio assignment was to design an alternative to the currently under-construction Smíchov City project, based on the principles of Tokyo's urban development. The main principles include low-rise but dense buildings, human-scale architecture, and narrow streets designed for pedestrians rather than cars. Public spaces transition from bustling intersections to intimate cul-de-sacs. The buildings are designed with maximum green space. Family houses feature gardens at ground level, while apartment buildings, which lack this option, are connected by walkways to rooftop gardens. This concept is the centerpiece of the entire design.
