Monastery on the Velíz hill
Annotation
I design a monastery on the ancient sacred hill above the village of Kublov. It is dedicated to the Benedictines and builds on the legacy of the monastery that stood in close proximity to the nearby church, of which only the remains of the walls are visible today. The heart of the monastery is the paradise courtyard and chapel, which is surrounded by an ambulatory from which all the other rooms are accessible, including small cosy cells, a library and a dining room with a kitchen. The monastery is designed for a small community of no more than 9 monks. It should be largely self-sufficient. A large garden is used to grow vegetables, fruit, herbs and to produce honey. The production of herbal products, marmalades and beeswax products is carried out in the underground floor of the monastery.
