Plzeňská hladinka

The Škodovka site in Pilsen represents an important industrial area of the Czech Republic. I decided to preserve the buildings in the northern part and integrate them into the new concept of the area, as they create a unique genius loci. I am transforming the remaining parts of the area, today consisting mainly of low-rise logistics halls, into a multifunctional city with a clear structure. The central element is a new water channel and lake, which serves not only as an aesthetic and recreational element, but also as a key part of the blue-green infrastructure. Water is pumped from a nearby reservoir via an underground pipe and, together with rainwater that is efficiently captured on the site, ensures that the canal and lake are filled.
