High speed block, Smíchov

The main question is, what happens if the railway cuts through our designated plot? We decided to place our market hall program beneath the railway while also utilizing the space above it. Our strategy was to maintain the block structure but integrate all functions within it. We adopted the programmatic strategy of Art City, where creative people can live, work in studios, and ultimately exhibit their works in a gallery – all on a single plot! The market hall is the main program, accessible from Nádražní Street, U železničního mostu Street, and Strakonická Street. Above the market hall and the railway is a building that houses the gallery, studios, and apartments. These three buildings are connected by a walkable terrace, which is freely accessible to visitors.
