RENAISSANCE RENOVATION
Annotation
Lanškroun Castle and the current museum have a long history full of changes that have affected it. The oldest roots date back to the Gothic period and from each period either the castle itself or its grounds have left remains that should not be forgotten. Apart from the transformation of the Gothic monastery into a castle the greatest changes took place during the Renaissance period, but this signature has not survived in the grounds. This project aims at returning to Renaissance principles and character and reflecting them in the courtyard and linking it to the castle as a whole. Also, it is dedicated to unifying and setting the order that all courtyards lack and cleaning up inappropriate elements to create a pleasant space to stay and visit the grounds and museum or create events.
