MONASTERY IN VILÉMOV

The Cistercian monastery is located in the town of Vilémov near Golčov Jeníkov, close to Kutná Hora. The monastery completes the entirety of the Baroque courtyard in its southwest corner. The design preserves as many of the original buildings as possible and combines them in situational value. The building of the monastery is built on a square plan with a 20 m edge with a roof terrace, the floors are divided by a rampart with a connecting element of a vertical ambit with a rotating elevator. The asymmetry of the placement of the windows brings a touch of chaos to the spare order of the original Baroque courtyard. The building is self-functioning without unnecessary dissection into space, containing within it accommodation, refectory, convent, library, chapel and estate managment.
