House n. 24

Annotation

Despite its cultural and historical significance, the street Na Hrázi in Liben is now defined by the abandoned bus station. My goal was to design a residential building, that would do justice to its corner position, with respect to its surroundings and return character back to the street. The house got its name after Bohumil Hrabal's home, that previously stood on this exact plot. The author's home also inspired what is now one of the most noticable elements of my design - the arch cornice. The building is available to the public on two levels, featuring a café on the ground floor and an art gallery above, connected via a spiral staircase. The following three floors are residential, with several apartment categories. All levels are accessible by either a staircase, or an elevator.
