Cheaper joke
Annotation
The goal of this "joke" was to design affordable housing that also preserves the views across a river. The main construction material is wood, which is affordable and allows for quick construction. This is complemented by reinforced concrete on the first floor to make this building able to withstand potential flooding in this area close to the river. This is also why the ground floor of the house is designed as a semi-open space for car parking. The other two floors contain 16 basic 2+kk units connected by a pavilion. Each pair of flats can be connected in a short time to create a more spacious 3+kk unit. The units can just as easily be split again. The design also includes an adjacent park that connects the apartment building to the retirement home, creating a pleasant space for them.
