Kolostor

The topic of my semester project is a study for a new monastery within the grounds of an old estate in the village of Vilémov near Golčův Jeníkov. The monastery itself encloses the southern part of the courtyard. Its shape is derived from the classic arrangement around a central cloister and from two axes: the east-west axis and the axis parallel to the road crossing the courtyard. The massing and material solutions are the result of an effort to connect with the spirit of the place.
