Apartment house Žitenice

Vilma Martínková

Annotation

The project focuses on the reconstruction of a historic agricultural building from the 19th century in the village of Žitenice, located near Litoměřice. The building, originally used as a stable and material storage, is characterized by massive brick walls, beautiful vaulted ceilings, and a robust wooden structure. The design transforms this 300 m² structure into a modern residential building with four duplex apartments. One larger apartment, measuring 100 m², and three smaller ones, each 60 m², are designed with an emphasis on preserving historical elements such as load-bearing structures and vaulted ceilings. The goal of the project is to create a harmonious connection between the original structure and its new use, catering to contemporary housing needs.
