The new building, made of light-colored fair-faced concrete, tapered upward and was topped with a narrow cornice. Beneath their feet stretched a floor made of wooden blocks. The passageway was spacious, and to the right, there was an open room where they could see shelves filled with tools such as rakes, shovels, and buckets. A sign on the wall informed them that the storage was accessible to the public.
