Vyšehrad – a change of perspective
Annotation
The building stands in the northwestern corner of Vyšehrad. It is located directly on one of the paths, and so that it does not block it, you can walk underneath it. The relatively steep stairs do not entice everyone, but they lead the brave to a space that brings memories and views of several places bearing the scars of World War II. The view of the Prague skyline from this location is very popular, but few stop to realize how many times it must have changed over the years.
The building is meant to remind visitors of the 1945 bombing of Prague. The first floor offers a small exhibition that provides a glimpse into the memories of those who experienced the bombing, thus preparing visitors for the subsequent floor. The second floor then opens up views of places marked by the event.
