Art pavilon in Stromovka

The house completes a series of pavilions in Stromovka Park. It is located at the highest point and overlooks the other pavilions situated along the line of the passage. The elongated and not entirely regular plan refers to the shape of the clearing and tries to support the linearity of the space. The volume of the house is formed by a simple, heavy concrete plinth that supports fragile glass skylights. The exhibition space consists of a main - elevated - gallery space and a lower exhibition hall. Both are fitted with a basilical ceiling skylight that provides ample natural light for display. In addition to the view, the building concept also relies on views to the exterior, thus avoiding the feeling of being completely cut off from the outside world.
