Annotation

These underground pools with ocean views serve those who love water but dislike marine ecosystem. The building is located on the west coast cliff of Easter Island, 6 kilometers from the capital Hanga Roa. The main feature of the structure is a spiral staircase descending around the tree whose crown rises above the surface. I was inspired by similar natural phenomena on Easter Island. This is where the name of the building comes from. All the pools are connected and together form a cave complex with views out to the Pacific Ocean. This experience is enhanced by descending levels of the pool, which evoke a gradually decreasing seabed. In addition, in the afternoon, the pools offer a unique view of setting sun over the ocean horizon.
