The Shadow of the Ore Mountains

Annotation
The Shadow of the Ore Mountains is an underground memorial site commemorating the extinct settlement. The building is hidden underground, but its entrance is monumental and offers views of the surrounding landscape. The concrete block portal recalls the architecture of the original settlement and invites visitors to explore. Upon entering, visitors find themselves in a large, naturally lit space dedicated to the exhibition. The stream that once flowed through the settlement is introduced into the structure as a waterfall flowing down the wall, symbolizing the passage of time and bringing tranquility. In contrast to the water, there is a relaxation room with a fireplace. On the second underground floor, is a a darker space, a screening room, and a back room, lit by a single skylight.
