PELHRIMOV´S LINES

The proposal focuses on the comprehensive revitalization of the former textile areas, including the urban plan and the transformation of two key buildings Mountfield and Alfatex. The urban concept responds to the current division of the urban structure caused by the road stretch and emphasizes traffic calming, improving the connection between the historic center and the river, which will become the central element of the public space. The revitalization of the Mountfield building transforms the industrial building into a multifunctional space with loft apartments, commercial units and a gallery dedicated to the history of the textile company. The historic character of the original part of the Alfatex building will be preserved, while the new extension will offer administrative spaces, medical units, starter apartments, housing for the elderly and a kindergarten. The overall design combines historical references with modern features to create a new, vibrant and sustainable urban environment.
