INTEGRATION OF A CROSSROAD TO A CITY STRUCTURE

The diploma project deals with an urbanistically complicated area of the Pelc -Tyrolka grade separated intersection, where the City Ring Road and the North-South Arterial connect. Together with the complex of university buildings and rock formations, it is a very strong location in terms of character. Its new design includes a circular footbridge, whose ramps overcome the barriers imposed by the terrain and the intersection, and which integrates the new urban structure into the dynamic processes of the surrounding area. The intersection thus becomes the center of the whole area, where different levels of height are connected and where movement energy is highly concentrated.
