New Forms of Housing in the Growing Environment of the Historic City
Architecture and Urbanism, Bachelor Project
Annotation
The apartment building is located on a lucrative plot in Old Prague. The longitudinal form of the house is defined by the street line and complements the corner. Towards the corner, the building is emphasized both by the difference in height and by the change in the facade. Changing the surface material makes the elongated structure feel shorter. The southern facade is straight and, despite the elementary geometry of the windows on the staircase, modest so as not to disturb the quiet part of the city. The northern facade decreases towards the sky and is supplemented with balconies. Balconies are accessible from both living rooms and bedrooms. This solution was also chosen due to minimal window shading.
