Renovation of an old monastery in Zakupy
Annotation
Concept and introduction
Our intention was to restore the Capuchin monastery in Zákupy and its garden to follow the original tradition of a self-sufficient farm. We transformed the garden into a space focused on beekeeping, which not only supports biodiversity but also enables the breeding of endangered bee species. This concept includes an orchard, vegetable fields, herb beds and greenhouses. The yields from these areas contribute to the self-sufficiency of the site and also provide the basis for further processing. The monastery garden combines tradition with modern approaches and offers a space for education, community gatherings and relaxation.
