House In A Gap PER

Annotation

On a complicated plot on the Na Perštýně street I have designed one of the many possible solutions. The new building for Muzeum Prahy should offer the visitor an insight into the construction history of Prague. The museum has three main parts. The first is the “plinth” on the ground floor which contains the main entrance and which serves as a base for the entire construction. The second is the “city palace” standing on top of the northern part of the plinth containing exhibition rooms, utility and administrative spaces and a cafe with an amazing view on the topmost floor. The last part is the massive gallery intended to host temporary exhibitions, which protrudes dramatically over the sidewalk and which terminates the Bartolomějská street.
