Opening up

I walk through, weaving through walls both closing and opening space to endless horizons. The soft hills of the surrounding landscape caress my skin like the sun's rays. The walls, which gradually lower, frame the views like the frame of its painting. Beyond the wide views, the walls create more intimate corners, dominated in their permanence by sturdy oak trees that bring peace, humility, rootedness, openness to the place. The landscape of Číčovice and the landscape of my heart, Předklášteří, which was my inspiration, have two things in common; they shared their softness and wide views. By raising the walls and lightly modelling the terrain, I wanted to make the wide space more intimate and emphasise the views by framing and gradually revealing them.
