This course offers an introduction to the field of heritage preservation.
Theoretical background of the field, methods of preservation and presentation of monuments and legislative forms of monument protection in the Czech Republic and UNESCO will be presented. The course aims to introduce contemporary topics in heritage preservation and to lead students to independent thinking and their own conclusions about the themes.
The course presents the topics discussed in the form of lectures and excursions. Attendance and active participation in class is required as a prerequisite for passing the course.
Final evaluations will take the form of a test and an oral examination.
