PRODUCT MADE FROM WASTE

The aim of this thesis is to find a suitable application of waste material, namely paper pulp, in product design. The application is found in toys for children with visual impairment. The thesis involves research into the properties of the chosen material e.g. testing the suitability of the paint, testing the product in the intended target group and finding an alternative waste material. The designed kit is intended for both visually impaired and non visually impaired children. The kit promotes easier integration of children with visual impairment into the mainstream environment through play.
