Annotation

The southern part of Brno has long been a neglected area, characterized by a mix of extensive railway infrastructure, highways, and incomplete urban concepts. Despite its proximity to the city center, it remains fragmented and underutilized. However, with numerous planned projects and its strategic location, this area holds significant potential for urban development. The proposed vision draws inspiration from international examples, such as the renowned Finger Plan from Copenhagen, and focuses on introducing clear urban structure and order. The main principles of the proposal are leveraging rail transport as the backbone of future development and harmoniously integrating new urban areas with the existing values of the region, including preserved historical village centers. The goal is to create a sustainable and legible urban framework that respects the area's character and unlocks its potential for future generations.
